Cambodian youth aspire to visit China! Under the blending of cultures, how can electricity contribute to building a China-Cambodia community of common destiny

Recently, the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia released relevant research results. The 21st Century Maritime Silk Road Research Center of the Royal University of Phnom Penh, together with the Cambodia Research Center of Beijing Foreign Studies University, jointly issued the "2025 Cambodian Youth Perception Survey Report on Cultural Exchange between China and Cambodia in Building a New Era China Cambodia Community of Shared Future". The survey covered 40 universities and research institutions in Cambodia, with a total of 2380 young respondents.

A set of data in the report is particularly noteworthy: China has become the most popular overseas study destination for Cambodian youth, with a high proportion of 88.57% choosing it; 99.29% of respondents recognize the employment value brought by Chinese language. At the same time, China is also the most popular overseas tourist destination among Cambodian youth, with 94.45% of respondents expressing their longing. China's long history, natural scenery, and educational strength deeply attract the younger generation in Cambodia.

With the acceleration of industrialization in Cambodia, major industrial parks in Xigang, Gogong, and Phnom Penh continue to expand their production. A large number of factory power distribution, grid upgrading, and new energy supporting projects have been implemented, and power infrastructure is developing rapidly. However, there is a long-term shortage of local professional and technical talents, and compound talents who understand both power technology and Chinese language, and are familiar with Chinese equipment standards, are particularly scarce.

This is highly consistent with the research report's demand for language and technology training among young people. For overseas power engineering enterprises, local talents are not simply employed, but long-term joint construction: by accumulating mature distribution technology and equipment operation and maintenance experience in China, cultivating a group of power practitioners who are rooted in the local area, understand standards, and know how to operate, the project can achieve long-term stable operation, and the customer's subsequent operation and maintenance guarantee can be implemented.

The community of shared future between China and Cambodia involves both cultural appreciation and practical industrial cooperation.
